Hampshire Avon Diaries. In search of Chub and Barbel. Pt1

In this episode of my latest youtube fishing video, "The Hampshire Avon fishing diaries", I arrive at the bankside at 4.50am. I have all the best will, and intentions to try and produce a good result, even muttering the "Barbel" word. The approach is simple. Fishing the lead on a Drennan "Run Ring" set up with a 2ft 10lb florocarbon hooklink to a size 6 hook. Boilie and luncheon meat was the bait choice and that was fished over regular pouches of hemp seed. On arriving, I don't spot any fish in their normal haunts and the river has dropped even more from the previous week. Chub and Barbel were spotted on the shingle in the shallows on wednesday, but since the higher temps have hit, They have not been seen since. unfortunately in this episode I am on for a complete blank. This video shows my approach, baits and my various swims and tactic changes throughout the day, and highlighting the natural beauty of the wild Hampshire Avon.
