Easy Repot? This Privet Surprised Me!

In today’s video I’m working on my Privet bonsai, which I picked up at the Birmingham Bonsai Boot Sale around 3 years ago. The last time this tree was repotted was about 2 years ago, so it’s definitely due some attention. The weather had other ideas though… The wind today is absolutely relentless, so I had to move the work into the polytunnel to avoid all that noise hitting the mic. That does mean space is tight, so I’ve got to be extra careful not to knock into any of the surrounding trees — the last thing I want is to damage them! Thankfully, once I got into the repot, things went really smoothly. I was genuinely surprised by how well this tree has developed over the last couple of years. It’s produced a strong, healthy root system, so all it needed was a basic root prune, fresh soil, and a slight reposition. Nice and simple — exactly the kind of repot you hope for! The tree is now back on the bench and ready to push on through the next growing season. I hope you all enjoy the video!
