Two MACKEREL FISHING sessions: using lures & Sabiki rig

After several vain mackerel fishing sessions near Gothenburg and Marstrand I was out again for mackerel fishing from the shore. This time, I went to the south from Gothenburg and tried to fish in the deeper water, around 15 meters. The first trip was successful with mackerel fishing with lures. A lure below 10 cm is often effective when fishing for mackerel. So, I had another session with fishing mackerel with a Sabiki rig. I used five hooks that sit compact to each other, which allows long casts, but not too tight. I was expecting mackerel to come close to the shoreline since it was the end of July and the water was quite warm, around 20 °C. My gear: Rod: 10-foot Caperlan Ilicium-500, 20–60 g. Reel: Daiwa 20 Laguna LT 4000-C.
