Pierre Poilievre pledges to scrap summer break to pass priority legislation – April 25, 2025

As election day draws nearer, Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre holds a campaign event in Saskatoon, where he pledges that if his party forms government he will eliminate summer break for MPs in order to pass key pieces of legislation. The Conservative party’s “100 days of change” would force MPs to work through the summer to pass bills on affordability, crime, and the economy. Andrew Scheer, Conservative candidate for Regina—Qu'Appelle, delivers introductory remarks. Poilievre faces questions from reporters on how a Conservative government would approach future negotiations with the Trump administration.
