Their clothing was simple, but their weapons were more sophisticated than they might appear. Balearic slingers carried three different slings, depending on the distance they needed to launch their projectile at the enemy. Their ammunition consisted of rounded stones, although they could also be balls of clay, lead, or terracotta, and were called glans. We will also learn about the origin of these slings.
