Simulation Workflow for Indoor Wireless Propagation

A workflow and setup for analyzing signal coverage in indoor environments is presented. For indoor environments with complex geometry consisting of varying materials and surfaces, accurate modeling of expected signal coverage can be difficult to correlate with real-world measurements. This session presents a workflow for using scanned 3D geometry to develop a scene model within HFSS SBR+. A data-driven approach is then taken to investigate optimal settings for balancing accuracy and simulation time, leveraging Python scripting and statistical data processing. This process is correlated to measurements taken in a complex office environment. The goal of this workflow is to enable rapid visualization and optimization of transceivers within an indoor environment, providing confidence in the real-world performance of the resulting design.
