The Police LIVE - Can't Stand Losing You (20 min Mix & Special Video - birth of Reggatta de Blanc)

Warning: only for enthusiasts! This mainly concerns the audio: a 20 minutes version Live mix of CSLY, in which you can witness the birth and growth of 'Reggatta de Blanc'! There are hundreds of live versions of CSLY recorded and around, but which ones are best? When I listen to them thoroughly, I always end up back in the early period of The Police. In the years 1979 and 1980, just before they made the step to the big stages. Those recordings not only often excel because of the better recording quality, usually for a smaller audience, but also because of the magic, energy, thightness, conviction and fun in their playing in those days. In my opinion so much better than when they hit the big stadiums and routine creeped into the gigs. I have tried to link together for you various different parts of some beautiful live versions, in which all three of them are really on fire! And as you probably already know, during the live performances of CSLY somewhere in the middle part the song Reggatta de Blanc was created, while improvising. The nice thing about this mix with middle pieces from different periods is that you can follow completely its gradual development and creation: what started with some beautiful guitar chords accompanied by Stings young man's screams (Cha!), developed via the Banana boat song from Harry Belafonte ('Day-o, daylight come and me wanne go home') to Reggatta. In addition, I added some rather rare anomalous parts, such as around 12:25. The result is a 20 minutes version, so take your time to listen! And than the video: don't be fooled by it. Of course I tried to make an accompanying video, but what you see is almost NEVER what you hear (except for a few seconds). All images come from the usual concerts that can be found on the net. Quite a puzzle though to produce this one, which in fact is my second one, after the first one was blocked after a few days cause of video rights. Al that footage is removed now. If our protagonist(s) ever listen to this: come on guys, especially Sting, the years are seriously starting to count, so surprise the world, break the myth of The Police as a closed legend, visit your old friends, conquer the demons of the past, and do what many people worldwide don't expect, but are really waiting for: rearrange a few of each other's solo songs, give each other some space and it's done: THAT DAMNED SIXTH POLICE ALBUM!
