100,000m3 in 10 Days | Tru Earthworks - Quarry Project

At Tru Earthworks, we successfully delivered a 13‑week quarry earthworks package, moving an impressive 303,665m³ in total. In the first 10 weeks, we shifted 135,900m³ with a single gang, averaging 2,718m³ per shift using one 40t excavator, 2–3 30t ADTs, and a D6 dozer. Once planning restrictions eased, we accelerated: in just 3 weeks with three gangs, we moved 167,765m³. The excavation for the proposed wash plant footprint alone ran for 14 days, producing 167,765m³. Our scope included: Cutting the wash plant footprint to design elevation and stockpiling material within 200m. Constructing 500m of site access road to underside of tarmac. Building a screen bund along the A-Road boundary. These elements balanced cost and effort, but the bigger picture was clear: this project was a showcase of Tru Earthworks’ capability to deliver at scale. Beyond operations, we worked closely with the client, providing data on quants, methodology, and long‑term planning. We advised on elevation strategy, highlighting the water table at 34 AOD versus the wash plant design at 38.5 AOD, and the need to import 55,000m³ of clay. We also explained the trade‑offs: every extra meter excavated requires another 12,500m³ to refill.
