Episode 15 | Cofferdams | Compaction | Corridors

Episode 15 marks another major step forward for the Sturry Link Road Project, with significant progress made across multiple areas of the site. This week, the remaining sheet piles for the Pier 1 cofferdam were installed, completing this phase of the works before attention shifted to Pier 2, where pre-augering and sheet piling progressed to complete the cofferdam formation. North of the railway, a new phase of construction got underway. Bulldozers stripped back topsoil and vegetation, fencing works expanded, Terram geotextile was laid, and the first deliveries of 6F5 aggregate arrived as the future haul road began to take shape. Hundreds of tonnes of material were placed during the week, with thousands more expected as construction continues. Elsewhere on site, scarifying and ecology works continued, including the protection of an active bird nesting exclusion zone. New fencing and planning boundaries are becoming more visible, while pedestrian footpaths can now clearly be seen on the approach to the south abutment. We also explore a completely new area of the project, looking ahead to the future working platforms for Piers 3 and 4, the new access route, and the next major stages of the viaduct construction. As always, the episode finishes with exclusive low-level drone footage, offering a unique perspective of the latest changes across the site and a look at how the project continues to evolve week by week.
