Dominican Republic, on a day like yesterday, June 30th, in 1909, Juan Emilio Bosch Gaviño was born in La Vega. He founded two of the country's largest political parties (PRD and PLD), the PLD being his most beloved work, President of the Republic (1962). This week, Jornada Extra and Juan Bolivar TV commemorate another anniversary of his birth with testimonies of his childhood memories, his passion for farmers, music, literature, his books, and the love of his life (Mrs. Carmen Quidiello). Finally, he proudly recounts the qualities of his grandson Jesús Encarnación, who at that time was just learning to walk. As you know, Professor Juan Bosch was a historian, short story writer, educator, essayist, narrator, and prominent Dominican politician.
