Manuel González Prada is one of the greatest representatives of literary Realism in Peru. His works of criticism and reflection on the society of his time, such as "Páginas libres" (Free Pages) and "Horas de lucha" (Hours of Struggle), as well as his "Discurso en el Politeama" (Speech at the Politeama Theater), have become a touchstone for thinkers of his era and today. He has also earned a place in Peruvian poetry through his collections "Minúsculas" (Minuscule) and "Exóticas" (Exotic), works that influenced authors such as César Vallejo, José Santos Chocano, and many others.
