Discovering Eaton Socon's lost castle
This castle was difficult to find. My history walk to find the lost castle of Eaton Socon took some effort. Eaton Socon is a delightful place to visit, with such an interesting history as you will see on my history walk. I also discovered a Victoria Cross winner, an old lock-up or jail where a daring escape took place. I was surprised by the history I discovered in Eaton Socon. ▬ Contents of this video ▬ 0:00 – Intro 0:13 – Eaton Socon 1:07 - Mathew Rosamond VC 1:59 - St. Mary’s Church 5:45 – Tomb of John Henry Elliott 7:30 - Eaton Socon War Memorial 8:44 - Eaton Socon Lock-up 12:30 - Eaton Socon Castle 16:14 - End sequence Text from the former ‘Lock-up’ plaque reds: This ancient lock-up was built in 1826 for the confinement of local malefactors.
