Not only will the project deliver much-needed transportation improvements for international travellers, it will also provide jobs and opportunities for growth to the Windsor-Detroit region and includes features that make this project truly distinctive. The project is being delivered through a public-private partnership (P3). Le projet du pont international Gordie-Howe est réalisé par l’entremise d’un partenariat public-privé (PPP). Un partenariat public-privé est une approche d'approvisionnement d'infrastructure publique à long terme et basée sur la performance pour laquelle le secteur privé assume la majeure partie des risques en ce qui concerne le financement et la construction, et assure le rendement efficace de l’infrastructure, de la conception et de la planification, jusqu’à l’entretien à long terme.
