✌️🎙️ Today, I'm joined by Danièle Linhart, a sociologist specializing in work and an emeritus researcher at the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research). She focuses on the transformations of work, modern management, and the evolving relationship between employees and companies. Together, we'll explore how the world of work has changed: why pressure on employees has intensified, how emotional management has become prevalent, and how all of this leads to depoliticization and a decline in the quality of working life. We'll discuss the transformations of contemporary work and salaried employment, the rise of personal and emotional involvement in work, the cult of performance, self-improvement, and so-called benevolent management; young people at work, caught between the search for meaning, autonomy, and disillusionment; the critique of the hierarchical relationship that structures the interactions between employers and employees; and finally, ways to reinvent our relationship with work, the company, and the collective. Danièle Linhart, author of seminal works such as The Human Comedy of Work and *The Unbearable Subordination of Employees*, offers a frank analysis of the excesses of modern management and the paradoxes of contemporary capitalism. She invites us to repoliticize work, question hierarchical power, and envision a more emancipatory professional world.
