Getting the perfect fit | Wide Hips & Narrow Shoulders Alteration | Kimono Hemming | Sleeve Setting

This tailored dress has always been too big on the shoulders so I decided to fix it. It has been on my 'altering' list for quite some time and I decided the time had come. As you will see, in the beginning, I tried to take a shortcut but of course that just created new problems! So I ended up completely removing the sleeve and resetting it as I had originally planned to do. I am very pleased with the result and the dress now has the perfect fit. There is nothing quite like wearing clothes that fit really well - it makes you feel so confident! I also bought a new kimono over the Christmas break when my daughter was here and needed to shorten the hem so that I could wear it open with jeans as a summer coat.
