Huartan - Beo ó Áras an Uachtaráin

Tháinig Huartan le chéile i 1992 agus tá gradaim á mbronnadh orthu ó shin, ina measc BBC Introducing NI Artist of the Year award (2025) agus NI Music Prize Live Act of the Year (2024). Tá sé mar sprioc ag Huartan nasc a chothú idir lucht éisteachta agus oidhreacht teangan agus amhránaíochta Chúige Uladh. Ar an bhonn sin, déanann siad na seanamhráin, atá i mbaol a gcaillte, a athchóiriú ar bhealaigh úra atá cróga, nuálach, agus dúshlánach. De bhunadh cheantar Gaeltachta Iarthar Bhéal Feirste an triúr oirfidigh seo - Catriona Ní Ghribín, Múlú, agus Stiofán Ó Luachráin atá ina léiritheoir fosta, agus taobh leo seo bíonn oirfidigh cumhdaithe mar bhaill den ghrúpa ina n-ionadaithe do na daoine beaga. Tá tionchar láidir frithrachmasaíoch agus díchoilíneach le braith i saothar Huartan. Tarraingíonn siad spreagadh ó réamhstair agus ó mhiotaseolaíocht na hÉireann agus cuireann siad a lorg polaitiúil féin orthu seo ar bhealach atá ealaíonta agus éagsúil, rud a théann i bhfeidhm go mór ar an lucht éisteachta agus féachana. Le linn 2026 beidh siad ar camchuairt chun a n-albam úr dar teideal Huartan a chur chun tosaigh os comhar an phobail agus de réir Hotpress beidh "urgent, pulsating electronica" le cloisteáil air. Formed in 2023, Huartan blend Irish traditional music and electronica, earning recognition including the 2025 BBC Introducing NI Artist of the Year award and the 2024 NI Music Prize Live Act of the Year. Through bold reinterpretations of at-risk Irish language songs, their mission is to connect contemporary audiences with the oral singing tradition and native language of Ulster. Emerging from the Gaeltacht quarter of West Belfast, Huartan is formed by three Irish traditional singers and musicians – Catriona Ní Ghribín, Múlú, and Stiofán Ó Luachráin, who also serves as the band's producer – alongside masked performers who embody the presence of the síogaí (fairy folk). Rooted in decolonial and anti-capitalist ideals, Huartan's otherworldly live shows channel a mythical pre-Christian Ireland, with performances that are at once unsettling, theatrical, and politically charged. In 2026, the band will tour their self-titled debut album, featuring traditional Gaeilge songs injected with "urgent, pulsating electronica" (Hot Press). Áras an Uachtaráin Áras an Uachtaráin is situated in the 1,752 acres of the Phoenix Park near Dublin, built in 1751 for the Phoenix Park chief ranger. By 1782 it had been acquired for use by the Viceroys who oversaw British rule in Ireland. The house continued as the official residence of the Viceroys until 1922. For much of the period that followed it was the residence of the Governors General, the Crown’s representatives in Ireland. In 1938 it became the Official Residence of the President of Ireland and has been used for that purpose since. Tá Áras an Uachtaráin suite san 1,752 acra de Pháirc an Fhionnuisce gar do Bhaile Átha Cliath. Is é an Maor Páirce a thóg an teach bunaidh in 1751 agus faoin mbliain 1782 bhí seilbh faighte air le húsáid ag Fir Ionaid an Rí a rinne maoirsiú ar riail na Breataine in Éirinn. Bhí an teach fós ina áit chónaithe oifigiúil ag Fir Ionaid an Rí go dtí 1922. Ar feadh chuid mhaith de thréimhse an Rialtais Dúchais a lean, b’ áit chónaithe Sheanascail Shaorstát Éireann, ionadaithe na Corónach le linn na dispeansáide nua, a bhí ann. In 1938 rinneadh Áit Chónaithe Oifigiúil Uachtarán na hÉireann de agus tá sé á úsáid lena aghaidh sin ó shin.
