ホークのエンジンO/H偏⑭ 腰上いっき組み!☆CB400Tエンジンオーバーホール☆バブ男くん!エンジン編#14(バブの腰上オーバーホール)
★Please subscribe to my channel (it motivates me to work harder♪) ⇒https://bit.ly/3dAqanT I'll assemble the upper part of the Hawk engine in one go. I've decided to assemble it roughly first, and then explain the detailed points of each part in individual sections later on. *Since this is a test engine, I haven't removed the gaskets or surface-leveled the parts, but please do so properly in reality. I've tried to calibrate it as accurately as possible, but please compare it with the service manual while working. I've tried to summarize the minimum necessary information for assembling a normal Hawk engine in a simple way. Measurement methods and disassembly methods are compiled in my past videos, in the "Odd Engine Overhaul" folder, so please refer to them. There are many items that I haven't explained in detail, such as rockers, valve springs, and head combustion chamber shape, but I plan to release separate videos on those topics later. As of spring 2026, regarding the parts supply situation for the 400 series, although the prices from Honda have increased, parts are still available, albeit barely. Honda is also facing a 17.7% price increase by 2025 due to rising costs. Some parts for older models like the Hawk have seen an 80% price hike without prior notice since the beginning of 2026. No matter how much the prices increase, we should be truly grateful that they're still available. Parts specific to the Hawk, which have limited distribution, could be discontinued at any time. Unfortunately, just recently, a cam chain for a certain model was discontinued. Ouch! Parts that were readily available yesterday suddenly become unavailable. The end is finally in sight. Shige-san's (Shigebabu III) motto: "Parts are expensive, but now is the cheapest they've ever been." A truly great quote! 🙏 --------------------------------------------- This is a 50-year-old engine. Please consider carefully that this is a restoration, not a repair. It's packed with data necessary for assembly, in addition to preparation and review. Assembly without a service manual is impossible.
