With anxiety and hyperventilation, you're stiff and your breathing is all over the place. It's like you've lost control of your breathing, making you feel awful and incredibly tired. In some places, and that can really be anywhere, you suddenly panic and want to get away immediately. You feel terrible and sometimes even think you're going to die. It seems like it takes forever to recover. With this yoga class, yoga for anxiety and hyperventilation, we'll start to feel a bit better again. Because I've had experience with it myself, I know that your body is stiff and wants to participate in various exercises, but simply can't. You lack the strength. That's why we're keeping it simple. Simple is more than okay! Join the class, but don't focus too much on your breathing. So if it's going well, join in, and if it's not going well, let your breathing slide. Too much focus on your breath can actually be counterproductive. But you know all about that. Keep it light and gentle, and be kind to yourself. At the end of the class, we'll go into relaxation. If lying on your back isn't comfortable, lie on your side. To keep the muscles and tissue warm and allow the relaxation to penetrate the deeper parts of the body as much as possible, use a blanket.
