To The Shire! | Best Day Trip From Auckland? 🇳🇿

For my last day on the North Island, I wanted to find the best day trip from Auckland which led me to browse Trip Advisor and find a deal that seemed a bit too good to be true. With only a few spots left, I booked a day tour for NZ$215 with Auckland Scenic Tours, which includes entry into the Hobbiton Movie Set and Waitomo Caves, travel to and from Auckland, as well as lunch for the day. Despite usually preferring to travel solo rather than in large groups, I was pleasantly surprised by the tour as we covered lots ground, and our guide, Liam, was a real wealth of knowledge, sharing interesting facts about New Zealand and explaining some of the history as we passed significant landmarks. Needless to say, if you find yourself in Auckland, I can highly recommend this tour. Onwards and upwards!
