Exploring New Zealand's Forgotten Past 🇳🇿

Having finally made it to Queenstown, our final destination for the trip, I was excited to finally explore this highly anticipated region, from stunning landscapes and immense natural beauty, to historic towns and settlements dating back to the Central Otago Gold Rush which had a significant impact on the history and development of this region. This isn't to mention the lasting legacy of the ANZACs (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) who fought side by side in both world wars (and many conflicts since). Young men from these small towns joined the war effort, many of whom never returned. Overall, Central Otago is a fascinating region of New Zealand's South Island, having unique history mixed with great natural beauty. Join me as I explore what has since become a highly touristy region, but still maintains a unique charm with important historical sites and heritage buildings that are often overshadowed by Queenstown being the Adventure Capital of the World.
