Caterham Championship 2022! Round 1 - Brands Hatch!

We're delighted that our resident driver, Paul Woodman is driving in the Caterham Roadsport Championship for 2022, but we'll be covering a lot more than the Roadsport this year. Stay tuned for coverage of the full Championship! We kick off the 2022 season at the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. The Roadsport is powered by the same engine, gearbox, but are fitted with road legal, Avon ZZS track tyres. The Roadsport cars also have an anti roll bar. From Roadsport, the next car is the 270 Championship. Without a windscreen and stiffer suspension, the 270 gets full team support to be a proper racing driver! The next level up is the 310 Championship. Under the skins, the 310 gets a power upgrade to 152HP and receives a limited slip differential. The most aggressive is the 420R race car. Yes, race car, this car isn't road legal! It sits on slick tyres, and can match some GT4 times on the track! In Paul's first race within the Roadsport Championship, we were greeted with an amazing start that we remember from last season. After some terrific battles on track, and osme crashes, Paul and the leaders were given a safety car! There was plenty more action, as Paul battled for 3rd place. He finished the race in 4th, but the 3rd place finisher received a time penalty, putting Paul up to his first podium in Caterham! A well deserved, 3rd place finish. Well done Paul! Moving into Day 2, our driver started in 3rd place, what could possibly go wrong? Well, apparently, quite a lot! After a shunt from the inside, Paul's car sustained some damage, resulting in him dropping a few places. He then had a brief, off the track moment, putting the Caterham Roadsport car into the gravel trap and slowing him down! The second race resulted in a 7th place finish. Bring on Snetterton!
