Brands Hatch - Crash and Action - CSCC Weekend - May 2026

Before I get started on the 'Brands Britannia' race meeting itself, I'd just like to say if you were a racing driver or marshall anywhere in the UK this weekend, you're not human. All I had to do was sit under an umbrella and film but I felt like throwing in the towel a number of times, you guys sat in your metal boxes in your full gear and still went for it in temperatures that were in excess of 30 degrees Celsius... As we all know a British 30 is far hotter than 30 degrees anywhere else so I think a trip to the sun might have been worth the journey to cool down. Unfortunately we did have a large number of accidents this weekend, and I think its probably safe to assume the heat didn't help most of the time. Thankfully I can report that no one was badly injured in any of the accidents, and I think we all need to say a massive thank you to the Marshalls and the Medical teams for doing what they do best and nailing it all weekend with the various recoveries. It was also lovely to see many of the drivers making sure others involved were okay before anything else, it really goes to show what a great bunch of people the Classic Sports Car Club racers really are.
