Bosnia - Tuzla Buries Its Dead

(29 May 1995) T/I: 10:22:11 10:32:59 Residents of the northern Bosnian city of Tuzla on Monday (29/5) buried most of the 73 people killed by a single Serb artillery shell that hit the city's market district shortly after NATO launched the first of their latest air raids. More than 3,000 people attended the burial in a park close to the centre of the town at 2:00 GMT. Forty-seven people were buried in the joint Catholic/Muslim funeral. The town's mayor, Selim Beslagic, told the mourners they should never again have to bury their dead at night.
