‘Heavy fire, heavy smoke’ at fire in downtown St. John’s
Two properties near the intersection of Livingstone and Lime streets in downtown St. John’s were heavily damaged by fire early Monday morning. Deputy Chief Roger Hounsell of the St. John’s Regional Fire Department said the fire was so intense that the crews had to use defensive tactics to bring it under control.
