Fire on Froude Ave; Monday, June 26, 2017

I was late getting to this one. Following text from VOCM.com. "Firefighters were called out around 6:00 pm to a structure fire on Froude Ave in the Mundy Pond are of St. John's. SJRFD Platoon Chief Rick Mackey says it was already engulfed by the time they arrived. He says fire was billowing from the second storey windows when they arrived, but they managed to evacuate everyone. One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation. He says they had issues with the water supply so they called in a water tanker for extra support. Hundreds of people lined the streets around the neighbourhood to watch the blaze. Many had been driven from their nearby homes due to smoke. At least 12 apartments were destroyed in the fire. Families who lost their homes found accommodations with neighbours and friends, and at the Froude Ave Community Centre."
