Welcome to the Voice of America’s News Words. A war that began a year ago in the African country of Sudan shows no sign of ending. DISPLACE Fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces and massive hunger and starvation have created the world’s largest displacement crisis, according to the United Nations. Nearly one-third of Sudan’s population, about eight million people, are displaced. People are displaced when they are forced to leave their home or country.
