Ocho policías muertos en accidente de tránsito en la CA-5

At least eight police officers lost their lives this Wednesday when the bus they were traveling in was struck by a heavy truck in the area known as Abajo del Rodeo, on the CA-5 highway. The director of the SIAT (Specialized Traffic Accident Investigation Section), Darwin Hernández, indicated that the driver of the truck was speeding and failed to negotiate the sharp curve, crashing head-on into the police vehicle. The scene of the accident remains with bus debris scattered across the road, where COVI (Vehicle Inspection and Road Safety Commission) workers are carrying out cleanup operations while authorities investigate the exact causes of the fatal accident.
