How To Do A Piqué Turn | Step-by-Step Tutorial

Piqué turns are one of my favorite ballet turns because once you feel comfortable with them, you don’t just get to twirl, you get to travel! They’re elegant, dynamic, and so fun when everything starts working together. I created this video to break down this beautiful turn step-by-step. Whether you’re learning piqué turns for the first time or you’ve been struggling to make them feel stable and enjoyable, my goal is to help you uncover what might be holding you back and give you clear tools for success. In this video, we cover: • What a piqué turn is • Proper foot placement in passé • Arm placement and how to use your arms efficiently • The importance of plié to propel yourself forward and around • How to prepare and initiate a piqué turn • How to finish the turn with control and balance • The key differences between Vaganova and Cecchetti piqué turns By the end of this video, you’ll have a stronger understanding of how piqué turns work, how to troubleshoot common issues, and how to approach them with more confidence and ease in class. I’d love to hear from you! If you have any questions about what I covered in this video, or if there’s something from your ballet class that you’d like me to break down or explain, just drop it in the comments!📌 I’m based in Largo, FL!
