(^-^) How to Make Tonjiru (Pork Soup) for School Lunches Ingredients (Serves 2 Adults and 1 Child) Carrot...1/4 (40g) Daikon Radish...2cm Slices (60g) Burdock Root...1/5 (20g) Potato...1/2 (80g) Green Onion...1/3 (30g) Konnyaku Sheet...40g Ground Pork...50g Firm Tofu...60g Oil...1/2 Tablespoon (6g) Dashi Stock...600ml Miso...1 1/2 Tablespoons (30g) Directions 1. Cut the carrots and daikon radish into chrysanthemum shapes. Cut the burdock root in half lengthwise and thinly slice diagonally. Soak in water for 5 minutes. Cut the potatoes into thick chrysanthemum shapes and soak in water for 5 minutes. Finely chop the green onions. 2. Cut the konjac into thirds lengthwise and into 1cm thick slices. Place in a heat-resistant container, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for about 1 minute. After heating, rinse with water to remove any scum. 3. Cut the minced pork into 2cm wide cubes and the firm tofu into 1.5cm cubes. 4. Add oil to a pot and stir-fry the carrots, daikon radish, burdock, potatoes, and green onions over medium heat for 2 minutes. Add the konjac and pork and stir-fry until the pork changes color, then add the dashi stock. 5. Once boiling, skim off any scum and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add the tofu, dissolve the miso, and simmer over low heat for 5 minutes.
