Solo Truck Bed Camping & Found Something Hidden in the Forest At Moon Lake State Forest

I stumbled upon something hidden in the the side of a rocky ledge in the middle of the forest while I was on my latest solo truck bed camping adventure at Moon Lake State Forest Recreation Area in the Northeastern part of Pennsylvania. A simple camp, with good food, a surprise overnight visitor wondered into my campsite and then while searching for the remains of an old cabin back in the woods, I found something deep in the woods that I wasn't expecting see out there! Site number 8 turned out to be a great spot, good tree cover, fire ring, peaceful. Exactly the kind of place I was looking for. Moon Lake is tucked away in Plymouth Township, Luzerne County in Northeast Pennsylvania. Moon Lake itself is a 48-acre spring-fed lake, and the park was originally established in 1968 when Luzerne County purchased 650 acres using federal and state funds.
