In this video, you will learn how to perform and interpret a Student's t-test for independent samples in Excel, using the Data Analysis tool. Through a comparison exercise between a new teaching method and a traditional method, we will see how to: • State the null and two-tailed alternative hypotheses. • Identify the requirements for the independent samples t-test. • Compare variances using an F-test. • Choose between the t-test for equal variances and the t-test for unequal variances, also known as Welch's t-test. • Interpret the t-statistic, degrees of freedom, and two-tailed p-value. • Make a decision regarding the null hypothesis. • Write up the results of the analysis.
