This Chick Fell Out of its Nest. Can It Survive?

While working around our Victorian house restoration project in the Scottish Borders, I made a discovery I wasn't expecting. A tiny chick had somehow ended up on the floor of one of our old barns. Cold, vulnerable and seemingly alone, its chances didn't look good. The challenge quickly became figuring out where it had come from, whether its parents were still nearby and if there was any way to give it a fighting chance. Along the way we continue making progress around the property, finish tiling a long-overdue doorstep and head out at dusk to discover which bats are sharing this old place with us. But the question that stayed with us all day was simple: Can it survive? Thanks for following our journey as we restore this remarkable Victorian house and its grounds one project at a time.
