Following the official proclamation of the election results by the National Elections Board (JNE), Miguel Torres, the senator-elect for Fuerza Popular and second vice president-elect, spoke about the priorities of Keiko Fujimori's incoming government. In an interview with Milagros Leiva, Torres stated that the political group will strive for national unity and assured that it has a team focused on addressing the main demands of the citizenry. He also maintained that the next government must focus on confronting problems such as citizen insecurity and the effects of El Niño. Furthermore, he indicated that it is necessary to strengthen the State's presence in the areas that require the most attention. "To rescue our country, we have to be present where the problems are. El Niño and insecurity will not give us any respite. Right now, we have a slow-moving State, so from the very beginning, the population needs action," he stated. ON THE MINISTERIAL CABINET Regarding the formation of the next Council of Ministers, the elected legislator indicated that the process is still under evaluation and specified that the decision rests exclusively with the president-elect, Keiko Fujimori.
