Kingfisher photography - the holy grail of birds and a lesson in patience!

In wildlife photography there's one bird that always gets more attention than most - the Kingfisher! Maybe it's the fact that it's so elusive and spotting one takes patience and being in the right place at the right time, or is it that it's such a striking bird? Either way, it's always a treat to capture one so that's what I set off to do this week at Severn Valley Country Park in the midlands. A lot of waiting around photographing some of the smaller birds was rewarded with some fantastic Kingfisher action and although it wasn't as much as I'd hoped for it was still an amazing day spend in the hide with some other great photographers!
