I’m now two years post-chemo, and for the first time, I’m able to share these videos from my double mastectomy journey. Honestly, I recorded them during my treatment but never wanted to look at them — I didn’t like the way I looked or sounded. But I had to remember why I started recording my journey in the first place: when I was going through it, I didn’t see anyone documenting this experience. I didn’t see the raw, real-world truth. I wanted to make sure the people who have been on this journey with me from the very beginning could witness the most intimate part of my story — my surgery.
