SEARCHING FOR BIGFOOT IN TENNESSEE | THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU (LEGENDS OF THE WILDMAN)

Tennessee has long been known for strange wilderness encounters, especially throughout the Cumberland Plateau region, where generations of locals, hunters, and campers have reported sightings of wildmen, unexplained vocalizations, massive footprints, and strange activity deep in the forests. The rugged terrain, dense hollows, caves, and remote wilderness of the plateau have made it one of the most active cryptid regions in the state, with numerous Bigfoot reports documented over the years. In this episode, I traveled from the Ozarks of Missouri to Tennessee for the 2026 Cryptid Campout located in the Cumberland Plateau region. Sasquatch Theory and the Half Inch Wrench Crew joined forces with the East Coast YouTube channel Hellbent Holler for an unforgettable expedition into some of Tennessee’s most mysterious wilderness areas. The group hosting the event has experienced their own Bigfoot encounters and unexplained activity around the campground and nearby state park, making this location even more intriguing. During our investigation, we discovered possible wildman tracks, strange tree structures deep in the woods, and heard a loud distinct wood knock echo through the forest in the distance. As night settled in, we witnessed strange lights moving through the woods and several of us noticed a strong musky animal odor lingering in the area. The atmosphere throughout the expedition felt intense and unpredictable. Things escalated quickly when a massive wind storm suddenly swept through the forest while the research team was deep in the woods. Trees began crashing down around us as everyone scrambled to safety during the chaos. It was one of the wildest moments of the entire trip. Every researcher at the Tennessee Cryptid Campout brought their own experiences, perspectives, and investigation methods to the table. It was great meeting like-minded individuals who all share the same passion for exploring the unknown and searching for answers in the wilderness.
