Remote Solo Wild Camp Amongst The Scafells

Solo mountain wild camp in the MLD Duomid on the Scafell range. This was my second consecutive weekend out following my second bout of Covid and, with hindsight, I did too much too soon. It probably wasn't the right thing to do, to attempt a long route (16.5 miles with 4700ft of ascent) to and from what I believe is the most difficult summit in the Lake District when not feeling well. As you will see in the video I really didn't feel great even before setting off, but decided to try and push on and got through it on will power and sheer determination. I was going to cut the video short but thought it gave a good overview of the area and my route. Also my planning in preparation for the trip and how that planning helped me change my plans accordingly. The video was filmed during Easter Bank Holiday weekend and my objective was to find mountain solitude on one of the busiest periods of the year in the Lake District. I set off from Brotherikeld in Eskdale and headed up to Scafell (Englands second highest mountain) via Slight Side. I had initially intended to spend two nights in the mountains but changed my plans due to the extensive cloud on the high peaks. After dropping down from the summit I pitched up at 1750ft just above Great Moss. The following morning I set off for the Wainwright summit of Hardknott and found some beautiful waterfalls en route.
