Welcome to Episode 1 of our unforgettable journey to Shundar Dara, one of the most beautiful yet least explored valleys in Byar Kohistan, Dir Upper, Pakistan. This is not an ordinary trip—it's a challenging mountain trek that only a few travelers attempt. Our adventure begins from Byar Kohistan as we cross the river and make our way through Terkun Village and Datkun Village, where we park our motorcycles before starting the hike. Today's trek covers approximately 6 kilometers, passing through dense forests, steep mountain trails, beautiful alpine meadows, and crystal-clear waterfalls. Along the way, we visit: Landa Dara Sangam & Waterfall Kachal Banda & Kachal Waterfall Banda Lot Waterfall Chon Banda Waterfall A special thanks to Nawaz Bhai for his warm hospitality and delicious meal before our trek, and to Nasib Zada for welcoming us with traditional tea and lassi at Kachal Banda. This adventure wouldn't be complete without my travel partner Nabeel from Travel with Nabeel, who joined me throughout this unforgettable journey. After hiking for almost the entire day, darkness forces us to camp on a narrow mountain slope—one of the toughest moments of the expedition. The next morning, we continue our trek and finally reach Chon Banda, where Episode 1 comes to an end. In Episode 2, you'll witness the breathtaking three hidden alpine lakes of Shundar Dara—the true highlight of this incredible adventure.
