Custom Tool Trepanning on the CNC Lathe

Another custom tool that we made for a good job that came through the shop recently. It took about 15 hours of machining time to make this 5 3/8" dia Trepan. With this tool we saved a lot of time and some high quality 4140 Alloy steel. Great for a future job. The tool cut about .030" undersize of the final dimension. I am planning of offering the tools that we make for sale online. Getting a website together and getting things in place. I especially love the 2.0" and 2 1/2" dia split holders. The most rigid way of holding boring bars, drills, and even Trepans in exteme situation. We are swamped. Hiring young machinists who don't mind working for a living.
