The 1993 CR500 is Coming to Life!

This is Build Part 10 of the CR500 giveaway build. In this episode, the suspension finally comes together. The forks got new seals and bushings, with the original chrome fork legs polished and reused. The shock was the harder half. Installing the new Hygear shaft hit a snag when the shim stack nut wouldn't thread on, so I called Hygear, sent them a photo, and they walked me through the fix. From there it was bleeding the shock, filling it with nitrogen, and building the whole thing back up. With the suspension and wheels finally installed, the CR500 has a complete rolling chassis for the first time since teardown. The build keeps moving forward. Stay tuned.
