Punch the Monkey Takes a Big Step Toward Life with the Troop 🐒❤️

A big new step has been announced for Punch the Monkey. 🐒❤️ According to Ichikawa Zoo’s official update, Punch’s feeding method will change from around Monday, June 29. This change is an important step to help Punch move forward with joining the monkey troop on Monkey Mountain. Until now, many visitors have seen Punch being fed while held by the keepers. That familiar mealtime scene may gradually change as Punch continues to grow and spend more time as part of the Japanese macaque troop. Punch was born in July 2025 and was raised by the keepers after his mother could not care for him. Now, as he approaches his first birthday, he is entering an important stage in his life. It may feel a little sad to see things change, but this is also a meaningful step for Punch’s future. Let’s continue to watch over him quietly and warmly.
