For Sacha Wenk, half Swiss, half German, breaking free from this norm was life-changing. "Before Kung Fu, I was completely disoriented," he admits today. He couldn't cope with the European school system, dropped out of high school, and went to China to train with a Kung Fu master. The 26-year-old still trains with him to perfect the martial art. "I can honestly say I have the toughest teacher there is." In China, the Valais native lives a monastic life as a Shaolin student. In the West, he became a social media star with his Kung Fu videos under the name "Sachka." In both worlds, self-improvement through pushing physical and mental limits is a central theme. In multi-week retreats, he challenges participants from all over the world physically and mentally with endurance training, Kung Fu forms, and exercises focused on enduring pain. "People always ask me if I'm crazy," says one of the participants. 00:00 Intro 01:30 Visit to the Kung Fu Retreat 05:10 Training begins at 6:00 a.m. 11:17 How did Sacha get into Kung Fu? 16:06 Life as a Shaolin Student and Entrepreneur 24:02 Sacha in his element 27:18 Enduring pain 30:50 Livio faces the ultimate test 32:11 Livio's conclusion _____________________________________________ ▪ A film by Livio Chistell ▪ Senior Producers: Vanessa Nikisch, Ilona Stämpfli ▪ Director: Anita Richner _____________________________________________ This is «rec.»: «rec.» stands for «record».
