Jorge Romero acusa persecución política tras detención de Ernesto Ruffo

The national president of the PAN party, Jorge Romero, described the arrest of former Baja California governor Ernesto Ruffo Appel as a “double standard” and maintained that the operation has a political motive. He stated that the case coincides with the controversy surrounding Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila, and therefore believes it is an attempt to divert public attention. Romero asserted that, if wrongdoing is proven, everyone must answer to justice, regardless of their political affiliation. However, he indicated that in Ruffo's case, there are elements that point to political persecution rather than an impartial investigation.
