Blast Furnace 5's final cast
On Thursday 4 July 2024, operations at Port Talbot's Blast Furnace 5 were brought safely brought to an end. Months of meticulous planning paid off as the blow down and final cast went even better than the team could have hoped for. Internal Communications Business Partner, Huw Waghorn, caught up with Works Manager Coke, Sinter & Iron, Dean Cartwright, and Project Campaign Manager, Paul Evans to get their take on such a momentous – and emotional – day.
