Open Cambridge 2020 - Exploring Queens' Old Library
Push open the virtual doors of Queens' Old Library and follow one of its librarians into the medieval past as she reveals a world of hidden treasures and long-forgotten readers. Dating from 1448, the Old Library contains 30,000 volumes including medieval manuscripts, incunabula, books with elaborate bindings and early editions of important works. With many books in their original 16th-century bindings and shelved on the medieval lecterns turned into bookcases, the Library is notable in that it remains close to its original state.
