In this episode, we follow Sandeep home to Mahe on the Kerala coast, where a homecoming is never complete without a visit to the Sri Muthappan temple — and where the god himself steps out from behind the stone to walk among his own during a mesmerising Theyyam ritual. From there, it's straight to the heart of what makes this place unforgettable: the food. Sandeep's sister opens up the family kitchen to share her chicken biryani recipe, built on kaima rice, curd-and-garam-masala marinated chicken, and the one ingredient she swears changes everything — green chilli, and not much colour, just deep flavour. Then we head out at six in the morning to a riverside spot where serenity meets an unbelievable spread: catfish, squid, mussels, dried chicken, beef, tapioca mash, and a traditional banana-and-moong-dal porridge, all cooked over open wood fire with no gas, no timers, and no modern kitchen, four dishes on the table in fourteen minutes of pure instinct. This one is less about chasing the biggest achievement and more about travelling as a traveller: following the people, eating what they eat, learning what they know, and finding more than we ever set out to.
