Tektronix 465 repair
A thankfully easy Saturday morning repair to the power supply on a Tek 465. Fault was no display, not even when beam finder pressed otherwise the 'scope powered up OK. Capacitor was C1419 a 47uF Tantalum electrolytic which was shorted. Replacement was with a 220uF/50v aluminium electrolytic (Tants have very low ESR). The CH2 Variable switch coupling is fatigued and broken I found after recording this. That means the vertical board has to come out. Yikes! You win some ....and then get slapped around the face. Apologies for the dim lighting but I wanted the screen to be visible and the Sun is very bright today.
