FIXED My G-Wagon Rough Idle! 16 Spark Plugs & Wires Misfiring G55 AMG Spark Plug & Wire Replacement

In this video, we tackle a rough idle issue on our 2010 Mercedes G55 AMG G-Wagon by replacing all 16 spark plugs and 16 spark plug wires on the M113K supercharged V8. For the past few months, the G55 has been running rough at idle, almost like it was misfiring on multiple cylinders. Under normal driving it felt okay, but every time we came to a stop, the engine would stumble and shake. Instead of chasing individual misfires, we decided to refresh the entire ignition system. At first glance, this job can seem intimidating, there are a LOT of plugs and wires, but once you get started, it’s actually very doable with basic hand tools. In this video, I walk you through: How to access all 16 spark plugs on the M113K engine Proper removal of spark plug wires without damaging them Tools that make the job MUCH easier (wobble extensions, swivel adapters, - magnetic spark plug sockets) Tips and tricks to speed up the process How to reinstall everything correctly One of the biggest helps was using magnetic spark plug wobble sockets along with long needle nose pliers to safely remove the plug boots. The entire job took about 45 minutes, and the results were immediately noticeable: Smooth idle (no more shaking or misfires) Improved throttle response Better overall engine performance If you’ve got a G55 AMG, or really any Mercedes with the M113 or M113K engine, this is a great maintenance job that can make a huge difference.
