We Left Star Princess for Dawes Glacier… Then Rejoined It in Juneau | Day 4

Would you wake up before 5:00 AM and leave your cruise ship in the middle of Alaska for a chance to get closer to a glacier? On Day 4 of our Star Princess Alaska cruise, we wake up early for scenic cruising through Endicott Arm before boarding a small expedition boat for Dawes Glacier. Instead of staying on the ship for glacier viewing, this excursion takes us closer into the fjord for icebergs, wildlife, waterfalls, mountain views, and a much more up-close look at Dawes Glacier. The unusual part? We leave Star Princess in Endicott Arm and rejoin the ship later in Juneau, Alaska. We have done a similar small-boat glacier excursion before in Tracy Arm, but this is our first time seeing Dawes Glacier. Was the early wake-up, chilly weather, and extra cost worth it? After the glacier excursion, we explore a little of Juneau before heading back onboard for the evening.
