Gran Canaria: Rundwanderung Ayagaures

Due to the poor weather forecast for the interior, we're staying in the south of the island. We drive through the Borough of Ayagaures to the town of the same name and park the car in a trailhead parking lot. The parking lot is located right next to the first dam. We had no idea at the start that the description of the hike would turn out to be quite different. We had planned an 11.0 km loop, but we weren't aware at the beginning that it would end up being 17.5 km. The route leads largely through a secluded nature reserve. It passes two reservoirs, a ghost town, and a resting place for the dead. This is a reminder that the path was once a pilgrimage route.
